Welcome! It's 2017!
The Southern Vermont Beekeepers Association was reestablished at the beginning of 2013. We welcome beginner and veteran members from all communities in Southern Vermont and Eastern New York -- our current members reside in Bennington and Rutland counties in Vermont and Washington county in NY.
For all Vermont members, remember to register your apiaries with the State of Vermont by going to: http://agriculture.vermont.gov/food_safety_consumer_protection/apiary/registration
Please also familiarize yourself with Vermont statutes related to beekeeping, see specifically: Title 6: Agriculture/ Chapter 172: INSPECTION OF APIARIES. " it is the duty of every person having one or more colonies of bees in their possession or under their control to report the location of such colonies. It is essential that apiary inspectors know the locations of all colonies of bees in Vermont in order to effectively control honey bee diseases and pests."
